Euro 2020 | Quarter Final Match Reactions | Italy Continue To Impress | England Progress

The Quarter Finals are now in the books, let's take time to look back at the action over the two nights of the round. What a tournament it has been so far. Here We Go!

Switzerland 1-1 Spain (Spain won 3-1 on Penalties)
Luis Enrique's team took the lead early on via a own goal from Denis Zakaria,, Xherdan Shaqiri took the advantage of a bad defensive error to equalise midway through the second half, his team mate, Remo Freuler was sent off just ten minutes later, credit to Switzerland for holding on in extra time, unfortunately for them and their fans, they suffered penalty shootout pain. Congratulations to Spain for their victory in St Petersburg.

Belgium 1-2 Italy
Usually we associate Italy for playing boring football, but in this tournament, it has been the exact opposite. Nicolo Barella took on three defenders before scoring the goal, Lorenzo Insigne scored a fantastic goal to make it two nil. Belgium were given a lifeline, via a unfair penalty decision, which was scored by Romelu Lukaku. Both teams continued to create chances in the second half, but couldn't convert. Italy held on to win the game, they look like the favourites to win it all now without a doubt, they will look to make another statement by defeating Spain at Wembley on Tuesday. Spain will have other ideas, we shall see on the day.

Czech Republic 1-2 Denmark
Denmark's story continues, after an impressive win against a strong Czech Republic. Thomas Delaney opened the scoring via a header in the fifth minute, his team continued to pressurise the opposition goal and were rewarded for their efforts when Kasper Dolberg scored a volley from a superb cross. Switzerland got a goal back early in the second half through Patrik Schick, the Danes were solid and held on for the win.

Ukraine 0-4 England
It was a very convincing win for England against a Ukrainian side that had nothing to lose and everything to gain. They got off to a great start after Harry Kane slotted home the through ball from Raheem Sterling in the opening minutes of the game, Ukraine created one or two chances and that is as good as it got for them as England sealed the game in the early stages of the second half after Harry Maguire and Harry Kane scored headers to make it two and three nil respectively, it's also worth noting Luke Shaw crossed in the ball at both occasions, Jordan Henderson made it four nil past the hour with a header of his own, after making an appearance in the game as a substitute. Gareth Southgate got the formation spot on again, it was good to see the likes of Jadon Sancho and Mason Mount get game time, thus giving key players such as Jack Grealish and others a chance to be rested for the Semi Final vs. Denmark on Wednesday.
