Euro 2020 | Quarter Final Predictions | Will There Be Any More Shocks?

Welcome back to the Euro 2020 blog, hope you have enjoyed the content so far, we are at the business end of the competition, there is still plenty of football to be played, with more potential shocks. Here are the thoughts about the Quarter Finals including the predicted winners of the games. 

Switzerland vs. Spain
Switzerland overcame the odds against France in the last round, As much as another shock would be great, I believe Spain will have too much for them, because they will keep possession of the ball for the majority of the game and break their opponents down. On the flipside, Breel Embolo is the key player for the Swiss in my opinion, his style of play may cause trouble for the opposition defence, watch out for Haris Seferovic in this match also, he will look to add to his tally. A lot of people, myself included, wrote off Spain's chances to win this tournament, something which looks foolish at this moment of time. 

Predicted Winners: SPAIN.

Belgium vs. Italy
This is Belgium's best chance of winning the tournament, especially with their current team, we know of the players they have so there's no point in mentioning names, although one or may be injured and out of the game, they face a Italy side, who will be fancying their chances after France's elimination, Belgium like-wise, in terms of quality, hopefully it will be a fast paced, end to end game, sign me up for extra time and a penalty shootout. Drama in football, especially in tournaments is something we love to see. What a game we have in store.

Predicted Winners: BELGIUM.

Czech Republic vs. Denmark. 
Czech Republic have had a great run in this tournament, they will no doubt want to emulate the '96 side that went to the final that year. They will no doubt be a threat from set pieces, look out for that scenario, whereas Denmark are everyone's adopted nation after the unfortunate incident, which took place early on in the tournament, their run may be ending here, after putting in so much effort from previous games. 

Predicted Winners: CZECH REPUBLIC.

Ukraine vs. England
Ukraine can NOT be underestimated here, they played some entertaining football in the last stage against Sweden, in terms of goal scoring threats? Oleksandr Zinchenko will provide that, they will look to upset the apple cart on Saturday evening against England who have higher quality of players, they can not afford to be complacent defensively, otherwise it may be a repeat of the game against Iceland, which is always a reminder of there are no easy games in football, it will be interesting to see which formation Gareth Southgate goes with.

Predicted Winners: ENGLAND.

Euro 2020 | Semi-Final Match Reactions | Spain Pay The Penalty Against Italy | England Reach The Final

The last two nights of the Semi Finals were so dramatic, if you did not enjoy the games, then football is not the sport for you. Here are the Match Reactions. Italy 1-1 Spain (Italy won 4-2 on Penalties) Wembley played host to what was a very entertaining clash between two sides of trophy winning pedigree, Italy were the overwhelming favourites, however, on reflection, Spain were the better team with the ball, but they failed to finish their chances, you could sense that as the game went on, Italy were going to capitalise on that fact, which proved to be correct as Federico Chiesa scored with a great curling shot. Spain responded by bringing on Alvaro Morata, who scored the equaliser, wrong footing the opposition goalkeeper in the process, there wasn't much in it between the two sides in extra time and as time went on it was noticeable they were settling for the penalty shoot-out. Euro 2020 | Group Stage Predictions

Welcome to the Euro 2020 blog, throughout the tournament you will see predictions and reviews, we will first begin at the very first stage, the groups. Disclaimer: Some group predictions may be quicker than others. Group A Italy Switzerland Turkey Wales Looking at the group and the way it was drawn, after much deliberation, I am expecting the outcome to remain the same after the games have been completed, it is important to remember that the four best third placed teams in Groups A to F with the most points will go through to the knockout stages.
