Euro 2020 Final | Match Reaction | It's Going To Rome

Italy 1-1 England (Italy Won 3-2 on Penalties) Readers of the blog, where shall we begin, what a night it was last night in terms of the anticipation and excitement of the game which was England's first final in fifty five years, it was a perfect start for the team when Luke Shaw slotted home a cross from Kieran Trippier in the second minute, Italy didn't panic and continued to play their game calmly, they knew they had plenty of time to make it 1-1. England looked like they had reverted back to the old tactic, if you can call it that, of scoring early and sitting back, you cannot do that against Italy, who controlled the game and deserved the equaliser in the second half after Leonardo Bonucci tapped in the ball after it hit the post from a save from Jordan Pickford, extra time was tense, however, both teams failed to find a winner.  Questions now have to be asked of Gareth Southgate in terms of substitutions, why did he wait so long to make them, he bought on Jadon Sancho and

Italy vs. England There will be a sold out crowd at Wembley to watch what will be a tense final, both teams will fancy their chances on the day, the team that defends properly and dominates the midfield will win the game, Italy have been so good to watch, take away the game against Spain, Italy have been good in defence and have rarely conceded, just like their final opponents, every time they press forward, they look like scoring. Federico Chiesa and Lorenzo Insigne have been class and they have scored top quality goals in vital moments, they will be missing Leonardo Spinazzola due to injury. Roberto Mancini will be looking at his options.  What a journey it has been for Gareth Southgate and the England Team. The morale of the

Euro 2020 | Semi-Final Match Reactions | Spain Pay The Penalty Against Italy | England Reach The Final

The last two nights of the Semi Finals were so dramatic, if you did not enjoy the games, then football is not the sport for you. Here are the Match Reactions. Italy 1-1 Spain (Italy won 4-2 on Penalties) Wembley played host to what was a very entertaining clash between two sides of trophy winning pedigree, Italy were the overwhelming favourites, however, on reflection, Spain were the better team with the ball, but they failed to finish their chances, you could sense that as the game went on, Italy were going to capitalise on that fact, which proved to be correct as Federico Chiesa scored with a great curling shot. Spain responded by bringing on Alvaro Morata, who scored the equaliser, wrong footing the opposition goalkeeper in the process, there wasn't much in it between the two sides in extra time and as time went on it was noticeable they were settling for the penalty shoot-out. Spain have been poor with penalties throughout the tournament, the scenario proved to be their downfal

Euro 2020 | Semi Final Predictions | Who Will Reach The Final?

We are already at the Semi Final stage of the tournament, where has the time gone? there have been so many memorable moments. will more be created over the next two nights? we shall see for sure. Italy vs. Spain Italy will be without Leonardo Spinazzola after he suffered an injury to his Achilles during his teams game vs. Belgium in the previous round, when he left the pitch the team still played top quality football that got them to this stage of the competition, they are almost certain to play with the same tempo against Spain who have been been suspect in defence, yet score goals, but they will do well to cause a threat to Italy's defence, especially with Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci playing, also, in case anyone was wondering why Spain's penalty shootout win vs. Switzerland was not really talked about in the Quarter Final match reviews. it is because the standard of the penalties were terrible, I'm sure you will agree. in terms of who wins this one? it's a

Euro 2020 | Quarter Final Match Reactions | Italy Continue To Impress | England Progress

The Quarter Finals are now in the books, let's take time to look back at the action over the two nights of the round. What a tournament it has been so far. Here We Go! Switzerland 1-1 Spain (Spain won 3-1 on Penalties) Luis Enrique's team took the lead early on via a own goal from Denis Zakaria,, Xherdan Shaqiri took the advantage of a bad defensive error to equalise midway through the second half, his team mate, Remo Freuler was sent off just ten minutes later, credit to Switzerland for holding on in extra time, unfortunately for them and their fans, they suffered penalty shootout pain. Congratulations to Spain for their victory in St Petersburg. Belgium 1-2 Italy Usually we associate Italy for playing boring football, but in this tournament, it has been the exact opposite. Nicolo Barella took on three defenders before scoring the goal, Lorenzo Insigne scored a fantastic goal to make it two nil. Belgium were given a lifeline, via a unfair penalty decision, which was scored by

Euro 2020 | Quarter Final Predictions | Will There Be Any More Shocks?

Welcome back to the Euro 2020 blog, hope you have enjoyed the content so far, we are at the business end of the competition, there is still plenty of football to be played, with more potential shocks. Here are the thoughts about the Quarter Finals including the predicted winners of the games.  Switzerland vs. Spain Switzerland overcame the odds against France in the last round, As much as another shock would be great, I believe Spain will have too much for them, because they will keep possession of the ball for the majority of the game and break their opponents down. On the flipside, Breel Embolo is the key player for the Swiss in my opinion, his style of play may cause trouble for the opposition defence, watch out for Haris Seferovic in this match also, he will look to add to his tally. A lot of people, myself included, wrote off Spain's chances to win this tournament, something which looks foolish at this moment of time.  Predicted Winners: SPAIN. Belgium vs. Italy This is Belgiu

Euro 2020 | Last 16 Results and Match Reaction | Shock for France as the Swiss Roll On | Is It Coming Home?

This round of the Last 16 has delivered, with one or two shocks along the way. Let's not waste any more time and begin the match reactions.  Wales 0-4 Croatia  Wales started the first ten to fifteen minutes in a decent fashion, Kasper Dolberg opened proceedings with a well taken goal, almost fifa-esque. the job was done for the Danes after Dolberg scored his second goal after the halftime break. Wales heads dropped from then on, Joakim Maehle scored the third, Wilson added to the Welsh pain by getting sent off unfairly, Martin Braithwaite added salt to Wales' wounds with the fourth late in added time after a lengthy VAR decision. Wales did well to get this far, an achievement in itself, however, people were making an excuse for their elimination, blaming it on travelling to different countries. Congratulations to Denmark, their momentum continues.  Italy 2-1 Austria The contest was pretty much even for the ninety plus minutes, the Italian's class shone through in extra than
